David Weir may still be a Rangers player in 2011-12???

Rangers captain David Weir, 41 next month, stressed that ownership of the club – whether it remains in the hands of Sir David Murray, who has plunged it into debt through calamitous mismanagement, or is transferred to would-be saviour Craig Whyte – will have no effect on the outcome of the title race. “It doesn’t affect you day-to-day,” he said. “Obviously, we as players would like it to be sorted”. For a player who arrived at Ibrox on loan from Everton as a stopgap signing in January 2007, Weir has displayed remarkable staying power, missing only four league games during that time and yesterday he suggested that he may still be a Rangers player in 2011-12.
