Rangers 1-1 Saint Mirren. Disappointment.

Football is a place full of moments, a colorful, final instance, often unpredictable. One momento can completely change or terminate a match causing a debacle. If Nikica Jelavic had some goals that lost to St. Mirren or we would have closed the game, for example, taking possesion of the ball to the end, we would be talking about the victory, a greater difference in the standings. But Saturday´s game serve to reflect and begin to rethink our team.

Disappointment may be the right Word. And the disappointment is not only a consequence of goal in last-gasp. It is a kind of disappointment a little predictable, expected to last stay, if those who are Reading these words were the last games and read what is written here on every performance of our team. You apologize, I will not attribute the reason is not the idea. I think sometimes we have to consider what it conveys the team from the field. The game sysyem, effective in the deep falls in some gaps reprehensible. The marking of the rival, the assignment of the game and the lack of pressure endemic.

The players and the coaching staff at Saint Mirren did goog job, took note of these shortcomings of our team. From the beginning the were short passes, made to run the ball from one place to another by providing dynamic and game. Although often were not deep and, fortunately, were lost in insignificance. Rangers did not press, which unfortunately it is a habit. A few pay debt, in some cases Edu, at other times, Goian, reaching the midfield but ends up making mistakes when you try to remove the ball.

There is a problem of recent origin, though I do not want to be fatalistic earlier times. We´re giving away the opponent 45 minutes! I remember the game against Dunfermline, I think this match was the first half this season more relaxed, I do not remember any more. The the rest was to return to the dressing room to rearrange the tiles from the board.

We must involve the players in the distributon of the ball. We must build the plays, start them with patience and not from the frenzy. It is not give the ball to Davis to find someone in the area, which generally tends to be marked. Many times the passes are forced, not the product of a collective.

A final point to be staked. The Saint Mirren goal was never just a neglect, but also because it is not maintained control of the ball. In the last minutes is necessary to ensure the ball, keep away from the defensive area, adding progress in the field, albeit slowly, but firmly.

Yet the championship is not closed, there is much SPL ahead, the very poor performances of Celtic leave a room foro ut beloved team. I think it´s time to seize the opportunity. Saturday´s game was a big turning point to learn some things.  Saint Mirren showed us some of the weaknesses that must necessarily be modified to have higher aspirations for the future at the continental level.

On Saturday, David came to watch the game on my notebook for RangersTV, we expect to see Paul “Gazza” Gascoigne. But unfortunately tv show for a few minutes, see Gazza in the field of Ibrox was exciting, her tears were ours as well. He was remembering his goals, his incomparable talent, his carisma, his presence, his madness. I have the shirt of Gazza. I remember with great affection, we were lucky few, we enjoyed it and gave us something few players left in the soul, that sense of immortality that only reflected idols.
