Season over for Bartley

Kyle Bartley last night confirmed his season IS over - as he bid an emotional farewell to Rangers.The on-loan Arsenal kid suffered a ruptured medial ligament against PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League last 16 meeting. It heartbreakingly cost the defender a chance to be part of Rangers' League Cup Final win over Celtic three days later.

Bartley - whose Ibrox deal was until the summer - told: "Everyone at Rangers has been brilliant and I can only say a massive thank you."It was hard to sit in the stand for the League Cup Final and think about what might've been."But I was thrilled for the management and the players that we beat Celtic. It was well deserved."I have also greatly appreciated the messages of support from the fans.

"I couldn't have wished for a better club for a loan spell."I've been told I've got a grade three medial ligament tear and I'm looking at three months out."As things stand I've played my last game for Rangers. I wasn't there too long but I've still got plenty of good memories."Who knows what next season will bring. Once I'm fit again I'll find out what Arsenal have planned for me."

The Ibrox Disaster

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,

Derek Parlane, Born is the King of Ibrox Park

"Born is the King of Ibrox Park", cantaron las legiones de Light Blue sobre Derek Parlane, ídolo en los años 70, portando el jersey número 9 de los Gers. Derek Parlane (5 de mayo 1953 en Helensburgh) desde 1970 a 1980 se debió al color azul (hasta partir al Leeds United). En 300 partidos, marcó 111 goles. Ganó dos campeonatos, 3 Copas de Escocia, 2 Copas Scottish League y 1 Recopa de Europa. En 2010, fue incluido en el Hall of Fame del Glasgow Rangers. Bill Struth

Ibrox Disaster

Ocurrió el 2 de enero de 1971 en el final de un Old Firm. Más de 100.000 aficionados cayeron al suelo. Después de 89 minutos de fútbol sin goles el Celtic tomó una ventaja de 0-1 y algunos seguidores del Rangers comenzaron a abandonar el estadio. Sin embargo, en los momentos finales del partido, Colin Stein anotó el empate para los Rangers.
