Possible targets

Lee Wallace: The Hearts left-back has been on Rangers' radar for a number of years and would arguably already be at Ibrox had it not been for a series of long-term injuries.

Craig Conway: A free agent after turning down the offer of a new contract at Dundee United. Rangers failed in an attempt to land the winger last January in swap deal for stopper Andy Webster.

David Goodwillie: Scotland's Young Player of the Year has been linked with a move to Ibrox after two fine seasons at Tannadice. But it will take a bid of around £2m to persuade Dundee United to sell their star striker.

David Vaughan: Welsh midfielder is available on a free after leaving Blackpool. However, Rangers face stiff competition from Sunderland and Everton.

Alexei Eremenko: The classy Finn dazzled during a year-long loan at Kilmarnock and is available for s1m from Metalist Kharkiv. McCoist could face competition with Premier League clubs such as Bolton watching Eremenko.

Kyle Bartley: Looked the part last term after arriving on loan from Arsenal but the young defender's season was cut short when he picked up knee-ligament injury.

The Ibrox Disaster

New Year Bells had been ringing,
All of Scotland was singing,
The old year had died,
And the new had been born.
As the news of disaster
From Ibrox came spreading,

66 people died

Derek Parlane, Born is the King of Ibrox Park

"Born is the King of Ibrox Park", cantaron las legiones de Light Blue sobre Derek Parlane, ídolo en los años 70, portando el jersey número 9 de los Gers. Derek Parlane (5 de mayo 1953 en Helensburgh) desde 1970 a 1980 se debió al color azul (hasta partir al Leeds United). En 300 partidos, marcó 111 goles. Ganó dos campeonatos, 3 Copas de Escocia, 2 Copas Scottish League y 1 Recopa de Europa. En 2010, fue incluido en el Hall of Fame del Glasgow Rangers. Bill Struth

Ibrox Disaster
