Rangers 1-1 Saint Mirren. Disappointment.

Football is a place full of moments, a colorful, final instance, often unpredictable. One momento can completely change or terminate a match causing a debacle. If Nikica Jelavic had some goals that lost to St. Mirren or we would have closed the game, for example, taking possesion of the ball to the end, we would be talking about the victory, a greater difference in the standings. But Saturday´s game serve to reflect and begin to rethink our team.

Disappointment may be the right Word. And the disappointment is not only a consequence of goal in last-gasp. It is a kind of disappointment a little predictable, expected to last stay, if those who are Reading these words were the last games and read what is written here on every performance of our team. You apologize, I will not attribute the reason is not the idea. I think sometimes we have to consider what it conveys the team from the field. The game sysyem, effective in the deep falls in some gaps reprehensible. The marking of the rival, the assignment of the game and the lack of pressure endemic.

The players and the coaching staff at Saint Mirren did goog job, took note of these shortcomings of our team. From the beginning the were short passes, made to run the ball from one place to another by providing dynamic and game. Although often were not deep and, fortunately, were lost in insignificance. Rangers did not press, which unfortunately it is a habit. A few pay debt, in some cases Edu, at other times, Goian, reaching the midfield but ends up making mistakes when you try to remove the ball.

There is a problem of recent origin, though I do not want to be fatalistic earlier times. We´re giving away the opponent 45 minutes! I remember the game against Dunfermline, I think this match was the first half this season more relaxed, I do not remember any more. The the rest was to return to the dressing room to rearrange the tiles from the board.

We must involve the players in the distributon of the ball. We must build the plays, start them with patience and not from the frenzy. It is not give the ball to Davis to find someone in the area, which generally tends to be marked. Many times the passes are forced, not the product of a collective.

A final point to be staked. The Saint Mirren goal was never just a neglect, but also because it is not maintained control of the ball. In the last minutes is necessary to ensure the ball, keep away from the defensive area, adding progress in the field, albeit slowly, but firmly.

Yet the championship is not closed, there is much SPL ahead, the very poor performances of Celtic leave a room foro ut beloved team. I think it´s time to seize the opportunity. Saturday´s game was a big turning point to learn some things.  Saint Mirren showed us some of the weaknesses that must necessarily be modified to have higher aspirations for the future at the continental level.

On Saturday, David came to watch the game on my notebook for RangersTV, we expect to see Paul “Gazza” Gascoigne. But unfortunately tv show for a few minutes, see Gazza in the field of Ibrox was exciting, her tears were ours as well. He was remembering his goals, his incomparable talent, his carisma, his presence, his madness. I have the shirt of Gazza. I remember with great affection, we were lucky few, we enjoyed it and gave us something few players left in the soul, that sense of immortality that only reflected idols.

Rangers at the stadium of River and eating "choripan"

It was a great weekend. On Friday we went to River stadium to watch the match Argentina 4-1 Chile. There was magic Messi. We try to look for Messi to take directly at Ibrox, we have to talk to your agent! It was a rainy night, but in the stadium we were on the roof. David and I went with our tops The Rangers, and of course, we raise the scarf in the air! The Argentinian night was light blue. Here I want to make a public statement of thanks Natalie Nairm, who besides being a very intelligent woman (there are only read their tweets), is very generous. Bought for me the scarf and some shirts, like Jelavic, you can see in the pictures. And she sent me everything from Glasgow in a box very well presented. She took care of everything. Thanks Natalie!

Argentina-Chile match ended at . Leaving the River stadium on the ooutskirts we ate some choripanes!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorip%C3%A1n

While we were uo around to get a taxi to take us to the bus station. Those are the problems of megacities. Traffic congestion and everyone wants quick return after each match. La Plata, my city, is located 60 kilometers from Buenos Aires. With the highway Buenos Aires- La Plata in 45 minutes we are at home. On the way back we rememberg some names, Dado Prso, Thomas Buffel, Amato, Scott Nisbet, Mikhailichenko, ohh Peter Van Vossen. At one point told the two: Mario Jardel, hahaha, who did not play. And obviously, McCall, Steven, Andy Goram, in fact the list could be endless.

I finally went to sleep at dawn and got up early to do a Asado, some meat from the pampas with its tradition originating in the historic relations between Argentina and Britain. Aberdeen Angus breeds, Heresford and clear, British trains that connected the entire country. Below you can see some pictures.

In the photos it appears Martin Becerra, Leeds United fan, who writes a blog on that team to Spanish-speaking community. He believes there is much information about Leeds in English so little that writing in that language. Who wants to look at the blog can enter the following link: http://spanishleeds.blogspot.com/

In recent photos, you can see David and his motorcycle to travel around the country. Although, next Saturday will return to
La Plata to tune in my notebook RangersTV. To view tha match against Saint Mirren and sing and shout for our club.

Ahh, I forgot. The Asado came out great, I humbly say. When I fix a problem with the compute, I upload a picture to see!

Meeting between Rangers fans

Friends, today I woke up with my Twitter account hacked and Gmail box full of complaints. I am very angry. I already changed the passwords on my accounts, and I hope things will be restored soon. My intention was always to build a bridge with all The Rangers fans, because I feel one more. You have always given me their support. I do not want our relationship is damaged by an idiot, or others.

Let me tell you something very nice. Yesterday, come to La Plata, David Roper, a genial man, who lives in Paisley and is a fan, a true fan of The Rangers. He came to visit Argentina and elsewhere in the region. One of the things that surprised me is that he intends to meet the diversity of places that are here. I was telling him that Argentines do not often travel across Argentina. He will travel across the country on a motorcycle, a true journey.

I took him to a traditional brewery from my hometown, where the beer is always served with peanuts, a rare Argentine ritual. Another strange custom in this place they serve peanuts with shells and people with open hands and throw the shells on the floor! In Argentina, one of the best beers are called “Quilmes”, originating from a region near my city and tradition in the rest of the country. Although paradoxically, the current owners of Quilmes are Brazilian!! Although I want to try the Tennent´s!! I do not get it here.

We talked for many hours, beers through on the club´s history on Super-Ally, Gazza, Old Firms, the Battle of Britain against Leeds United, on Argentina, how is life in Scotland, my next trip to Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.

David told me many anecdotes. David brought me an order I did The Rangers Store (Bocanegra´s shirt, a retro 1972 Cup Winners´ Cup, etc), some gifts and he recorded a CD all the songs on The Rangers. Tonight, I invited David and Martin Becerra, an Argie fan of Leeds United, to the River stadium to watch the game between Argentina and Chile and Saturday, I´ll do an Asado to honor my friend, well known from of my family.

Today we´ll go to the stadium with Rangers tops. So far it has not stopped raining, so we will be a little wet. In the coming days will show you the photos.

Hearts 2-0 Scum!!!!!

Rangers 1-0 Hibernian. The paths of evolution

Let me to confess you something, when it developed the team´s tour to Germany and negative results occurred against Bochum, Leverkusen and some almost-amateur team Germanic, the wrong transfers sequence –amplified by the media that make a situation a national-scale drama- and the short time with little to assemble Coisty told the team, I was very skeptical. But skepticism was based on the dynamics of the facts, unable to work, to put the pieces together correctly. Sometimes a poor start can lead to a sea of uncertainty, with undesirable effects. Luckily, beyond the debacle in the Cups, McCoist could imprint their identity to the team.

The progression was brillant. Over the week, our team gained visibility and, if I use the words of Super-Ally in the press conference after the match with Hibernian, also lethality. The Rangers are planted in all fields of an offensive, trying to be the main character, this must be one of the qualities of all successful team. Three wins in eight days! 28 points over 30 appearances in the current SPL season. Be strong mentally, not letting the opponent overwhelms him. But still I have a series of questions about the defensive performance (which I point out below).

The main change in the starting line in relation to the match against Kilmarnock is the entry American Bedoya replaced Spanish Ortiz on the right. He played 45 minutes, he brought little more than speed from the right side, sometimes overflowed and caused corners. In the second half, Bedoya had retired injured. McCoist ranked Wylde, as the righ winger to see if he could do more than the American. During the match, Wylde had good opportunities to score goals.

Davis made another great match, one more. We have bad habits, I think at this stage of events who can argue with the captaincy. Lafferty, meanwhile, is a particular player. At times, it seems that he is disconnected from the game, and then, amused his eccentricity and score goals or makes spasmodic appearances that are worth tree points. Lafferty may have been the most affected by the absence of Naisy, as Ulsterman had to conform offensive operation. Maurice Edu, in turn, exerted great pressure on opponents, although it was difficult because of the speed of the passes. Unlike other matches, the team was not willing to give the ball to the opponent, is trying not to leave the initiative.

Of the teams that visited Ibrox, the Hibs were the more efficient, leading to their needs and possibilities, if we do not have the forgettable season home game with Hearts (1-1), who stood well in the field. The Hibs match played much of the counterattack. A fast play, but not frantic, held as a link to Isaiah Osbourne, a central player who was looking for unmarked players.

In the second half, Jamie Ness replaced Bedoya. Edu was ahead in the field, though not in the position Bedoya. Any positive adjective, it is worth for Jamie. He does get the ball, and he does not need to run, is precise passes. Few players in the world are so accurate that vision of the games. When Ness risks, he already has thought the resolution is a step ahead of the situation. He knows stand on the field, look for empty spaces and when he has the ball, tries to stand in a comfortable position to receive.   (Yes, as I write this, I imagine that some of you will say that I am too much, time will give its verdict).

Let´s review the defense in this match. There is a move that should be reflected, as goal missed Agogo or the first times a Rangers attack move end Hibs havinf a counterattack, wich showed the defense a little messy.  Moreover, sometimes Goian leaves from the bottom with long passes across the floor and as a result the team lose balls. Force plays are desirable to avoid. Although elsewhere in the game, Goian gave the ball for Bocanegra to search raids by the left side Papac or Wylde, the latter making use of his skill. Another defense that should reverse the trap, a defensive tactic. Trap the attacking team into an offside position. An offensive team must move forward in the field, but do know intelligence is timely, as a resource, not as a system. Sometimes the opponent is in offside. But when used as a system, there is a serious risk, we meet an opponent who can realize that and make plays to offset the trap.
